The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is housed in three facilities: Mechanical Lab, Ryon Lab and Keck Hall. All visitors must utilize campus marked visitor lots, where a credit card is required to enter.Â The closest visitor lots are the NorthÂ Annex Lot, via Entrance 20 off of Rice Boulevard or the Founder'sÂ Lot via Entrance 1 off of Main Street. Houston has two major airports: William P. Hobby (HOU), 11 miles to the south of campus and George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), 24 miles to the north. Intercontinental is a hub of global travel. Hobby is a hub for regional and domestic travel. Together they offer 1,000 flights a day in and out of Houston. Most major rental car companies have locations at both airports.Â SuperShuttleÂ and taxis provide ground transportation services from both airports.
There are many hotels around Rice, in the museum district and in the medical center. Hotel Zaza is the closest hotel to campus, followed by the Hilton Texas Medical Center and the Marriott Texas Medical Center. More information can be found here.

If you would like to visit campus as a prospective student, theÂ Office of AdmissionsÂ offers information sessions for prospective undergraduates weekdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The School of Engineering holds a weekly information session at 2 p.m. on most Mondays.
