Rice University has partnered with Louisiana State Unversity to launch its first CEVE Study Abroad Program in Summer 2019.
Rice & LSU have 19 students attending their first summer Study Abroad Program in Rotterdam and London. This jointly-led venture will host students with interests in water management, environmental protection, and global sustainability. Students will visit two key locations relating to Civil and Environmental Engineering innovation: the Dutch coastal water management system and London’s urban water management and sustainability initiatives.
The first course, "Hydrology & Water Resource Engineering
" will be held in Rotterdam and led by Dr. Bedient. The second course, "Urban Sustainability
" will be held in London led jointly by Dr. Pardue of LSU
and Jim Blackburn of Rice
. Participating students will earn six credits upon completion of the program from their respective university. In addition to program instruction, students are further engaged through immersive field trips and meaningful interactions with faculty and students from Imperial College
and TU Delft
, a premier university in the world addressing hydraulics and coastal defense systems.
